I have worked with comedy group Laughing Stock since 2014, when they originally commissioned me to create a series of pop art portraits of themselves for their posters. For their 2017 Edinburgh Fringe marketing, they wanted to keep the portraits in continuity with previous poster campaigns, whilst moving towards darker, less child-like visuals than in previous years. To create this balance between continuity and change, I came up with the idea of rendering their original 2013 poster onto the wall of a seedy dive bar. I created a series of images from this concept for use on posters, billboards, and social media banners.
